Procedure Overview

The method is based on acompetitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The monensin antibody has been coated inthe plate wells. During the analysis, sample is added along with themonensin-horseradish peroxidase conjugate. If monensin residue is present inthe sample, it will compete for the monensin antibody, thereby preventing themonensin-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. The resultingcolor intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has an inverserelationship with the monensin residue concentration in the sample.
